PRE-POST EDIT: Sorry for the wall of text. Everyone who reviews Pogeymanz typically gets one, regardless of the review's tone.

Thanks for the review! I gotta say, this review gave me some perspective that I really needed, particularly concerning the newer pages. Would you believe that your review offers the first real response to the new pages (53 onward)? I got a few comments from IRL friends and a brief "Good job!" asspat or two from people on other sites but otherwise any responses regarding Page 53+ were limited until now (and Page 53 is almost two years old, which is why the silence was driving me crazy), and I want to thank you for that.

I'd forgotten to approach the comic with new readers in mind, I'll admit. I've spent so much time reading over every single page (to eliminate future discrepancies) that I know the comic inside and out--to the point that I write with full knowledge of what's happened and what's going to happen, even if past events weren't directly explained yet. So--and like I said, I didn't realize this until I read your review--I would write a page without thinking about how well it conveys necessary information to, say, a new reader that binge-read the whole thing in quick succession. As I read over the pages I can completely see what you're saying. The fact that I frequently take breaks from making pages probably doesn't help at all from a development standpoint.

It probably also doesn't help that the first 44 pages comprise what I've recently taken to calling a lengthy prologue, in that I literally had zero real aims for the comic's plot until P45 (the one where Professor Kilo and Bob dump exposition onto the protagonist and Clair about "nubbiness"); which is pretty much how and why the movie subplot and all of its baggage came into being and why I ended it so abruptly. All of the real big ideas for the plot as it is right now came to me while making P54, with the introduction of Müt. That's why I felt obligated to eventually write "Deleted Scenes" because I wanted to make sense of the past (or at least shed some light on and add context to it) and, if that two-parter page didn't happen, then the events of P62 "Stuff Happens" would seem more random than usual (i.e. "We're on the Director now? Seriously? This really came from nowhere").

It probably also doesn't help that I try to make each page as funny as possible even if my attempts at doing so frequently end up scrambling the plot and rushing a moment or two. But Pogeymanz was pretty much always about the humor, with the plot being a relatively recent secondary aspect of the comic. To that end, I nowadays try to limit the meme/reference/fad humor--though I won't rid of it entirely because that's what a large number of my fans +fav'd the comic for in its early run. I've generally been attempting more situational humor in the recent pages.

Again, thanks for the review! It was really eye-opening. I probably won't make the pages much shorter, at least not "six panels a page" shorter (large pages easily exceeding 10-15 panels in length is something of a schtick of mine), but I can start trying to pace the story better nonetheless. Though maybe I could add a new chapter or another webpage specifically for smaller supplemental pages.

Ah, I hate to be a bother, but... I asked for a review of Aware about a month ago, and I wanted to know how it's coming along?

@Shard: This is what D00D64 said regarding your review some issues ago:

"I was going to review Aware, and still plan to, but I kind of wanted its current arc to finish, as it may greatly effect my view on it... so that's why I have been taking so long on it."

At no point in time should a Kabutops ever lose to a Charmander. Even the Pokemon anime wouldn't be that dumb.

@BoltOfSpades: aim for the horn. I rest my case.
